The majority workers is the younger workforce, i.e. under 50 years a number of 81,34%. While workers who are aged 50 years and over, only about 18.66% of the total.  The population of South Kalimantan is still largely work in the agricultural group (more than 40%). The second group with the largest contributions in the absorption of labor is a group of services (more than 35%). This relates to the strategic position of South Kalimantan which becomes the axis between the regional province of Kalimantan and the entrance of the flow of goods and services between this island with the other islands in Indonesia. In terms of employment status, the last three years the data obtained shows the author further reduced number of people working with the status of his own business, and seeks the amount of people's status as employees/workers. However, overall the population working in the informal sector are far more than the number of workers in the formal sector. Therefore the Government should be improving to fix the conditions of work and protection of manpower to increase the competitiveness of enterprises and the welfare of the workers, especially in the informal sector.
