PEMBANGUNAN BERKELANJUTAN BERBASIS INDUSTRI PARIWISATA DAN KEARIFAN LOKAL UNTUK PENINGKATAN PAD PROVINSI KALIMANTAN SELATAN

Abstract


The focus of development for the next five years is to solve the issues of food, marine and fishery, industry, and tourism industry improvement. Therefore, it is expected that the economic structure of South Kalimantan, in the future, will become strong and solid with a very long productive age, and will grow sustainably. In the past, the strategic position of South Kalimantan, on the coast of sea, attracted many big traders from other countries who sought to sail into South Kalimantan, aiming not only to trade but also to spread their religion. Hence, it is not surprising that South Kalimantan offers the wealth of diverse cultures, languages and natural resources. The abundant natural resources and very diverse cultures provide promising potential resources of Local Revenue (PAD) for the welfare of people of South Kalimantan. However, it should be taken into account that these potential resources must be managed and controlled wisely. So that these potential can create and enhance a strong economic structure with a very long productive age, and implement sustainable development patterns. This study analyzed the natural resources and local wisdom-based potentials of South Kalimantan in order to increase Local Revenue (PAD). This research was conducted by using qualitative descriptive method, which tried to understand the phenomenon of social context naturally. The data was collected by conducting in-depth communication with informants who were considered capable to enrich this research and relevant to research problems. Based on the analysis, it is concluded that South Kalimantan has enormous potential for the tourism industry and offers the wealth of diverse cultures. This wealth is considered as potential local wisdom that can be developed and contribute to Local Revenue (PAD) of South Kalimantan Province. The results of the analysis also found a model of sustainable development that can be implemented by the local government of South Kalimantan Province in order to improve the welfare of the community.
