Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Inflation and Interest Rate Variables on Rupiah Exchange Rate as the dependent variable in the

US Dollar for the period 2015-2017. The design of this study is included in

descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The population of this study is

the exchange rate data, inflation, and interest rates. The data used is the official website of Bank Indonesia, namely www.bi.go.id in the form of end of the month data of the year 2015-2017 The selection of samples used is the value exchange of US Dollar against Rupiah, Inflation and Interest Rate in Indonesia which is limited to closing data for the end of the month with an observation period of 3 years, namely 2015-2017, in order to obtain a sample of 36 samples. The analysis technique used is by using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that: Inflation and Interest Rates (BI Rate) simultaneously have a positive effect on the Rupiah Exchange Rate on US Dollars with a calculated count of 37.148 with (sig) 0,000 <0.05. Inflation level variables have a negative effect on the Rupiah Exchange Rate on US Dollar with t count (sig) 0.331> 0.05 Inflation and Rupiah Exchange Rate affect the US Dollar 2015-2017 period with a calculated value of -3.767 with a significance level of 5% and a sig value (0,000) smaller than the level of sig. (0.05).
